Dear Swimmers,

Although Ilkley pool isn’t opening tomorrow, many pools in the Bradford and Leeds district are opening again for public lane swimming sessions. If you are able to get to a public session, Chris has pulled together some session plans for swimmers to follow. Hopefully this will give structure and enable swimmers to build up their fitness gradually.
Chris has asked for feedback – if anyone does have any feedback, please do feel free to email me and I will pass it on.
Happy swimming!

A message from Chris and session plans are detailed below.

I would like the swimmers to do this session all week, no matter how many sessions the swimmers are booked in for. The biggest element for all swimmers to remember in the next couple of weeks, is to just get a feel for the water and not to push it too hard. I’ve done one for every squad. It’s basic due to the length of time the swimmers have been out. I don’t want them pushing too much or doing anything too technical until we are back at Ilkley.

C Squad Swimmers:-
Warm up 6 x 50 Frontcrawl @ 20 Sec Rest
4 x 50 Frontcrawl kick @ 20 sec rest (just a nice steady leg kick)
100 – Easy
4 x 50 Frontcrawl Pull @ 20 sec rest (Focus on the hand pull through the water)
100 – Easy
4 x 50 Frontcrawl Swim @ 20 sec rest (Think/focus about the technique of the pull under the water. Also work the turn pushing the length off of every turn )
100 – Easy
