All club members should enter this gala. You need to complete the entry form. You can enter as many or as few events as you wish. The championships take place instead of training. No entry fee. You do NOT need SE CAT 2 for this gala.

This is the first in a series of galas and is a suitable gala for all swimmers at the club (including inexperienced competitors). At each gala there will be at least 2 races for you to enter (age group and open age group) There are also relay races. There are 7 galas in total and over the year you will have the opportunity to compete in each stroke. SE CAT 2 membership is NOT needed for these galas.
Saturday 12th MarchJorvik Spring FestivalJohn Charles Centre for Sport, LeedsFULL
This will be a long course (50m) competition. It is an A/B/C meet, so medals are awarded at 3 different levels. This gala is suitable for anyone who has competed in an open or Rising Stars gala before but you must be able to complete the distance comfortably in a 25m pool. It is not a suitable first gala. The gala has 100m events for each stroke and 200m free and IM. Cut off times are used at this gala. You need SE CAT 2 to enter this gala.

This is the second in a series of galas and is a suitable gala for all swimmers at the club (including inexperienced competitors). At each gala there will be at least 2 races for you to enter (age group and open age group) There are also relay races. There are 7 galas in total and over the year you will have the opportunity to compete in each stroke. SE CAT 2 membership is NOT needed for these galas.
Saturday 9th AprilScarborough Spring SplashScarborough Sports VillageFULL
This is a new venue and gala for Ilkley Swimming Club and is an open meet, so you need SE CAT 2 to enter. It is an A/B/C meet so medals will be won at three different levels and is suitable for most of our swimmers. There are cut off times so some experienced swimmers may be too fast to enter some events.

This is an open meet in a 25m pool. This gala is suitable for swimmers aged 9+ years and from any of the squads. All your events will be either in the morning or afternoon. To enter you must compete in at least 2 events. This is suitable as a first gala but you should have attended the club championships, A&W or Rising Stars before competing. It is a very popular gala and will fill quickly. It is very unlikely that late entries will be accepted by the meet organisers. You need SE CAT 2 to enter this gala.
