We run a structured swimming programme over three evenings a week

Our entry squad is C squad. Swimmers are expected to attend all sessions so that they can progress to the next squad or in
the case of A squad maintain their level of fitness.

C Squad

This is our entry squad which trains twice a week. Most swimmers in this group will have completed swimming lessons. Emphasis will be on technique, but endurance and sprint work through “sets” will be introduced.

Sessions:

Tuesday 6:00-6:45pm
Thursday 6:00-6:45pm

Minimum standard:

Aged 8 and over. Gold (City of Bradford Swimming Scheme). Able to complete 100m Front Crawl, back stroke and breast stroke and 25m butterfly. Able to dive in at the deep end and push and glide on both back and front. Speed is not important.

B Squad

This squad trains three times a week and is for swimmers with a higher level of skill. Technique and drills will still be evident. Sessions will include more endurance and
sprint work.

Tuesday 6:45-7:45pm
Wednesday 6:00 – 7:00am
Thursday 6:45-7:45pm

Minimum standard:

Aged 10 and over. Competent in all 4 strokes and able to swim 400m. Able to tumble turn on back and front and complete a racing dive.

A Squad

This squad trains three times a week. Swimmers in this squad compete at local and regional level and/or swim to support their development in other sports such as triathlon and water polo. Drill work and technique is included but the majority of the sessions will be biased towards endurance and sprint work.

Minimum standard:

Aged 13 and over. Competent in all 4 strokes and able to swim 2500m in an hour.
