My name is Jenny Machin and I am the coach at Ilkley Swimming Club. In this role I deliver sessions and provide feedback to the swimmers. I interact with parents and commitee members to discuss and resolve issues. I attend galas and make team selections. I became involved in swimming at a young age and competed competitively for a number of years before moving into coaching.Outside of this role, I am currently in my second year at Leeds Metropolitan University studying for a BSc in Sports Coaching. This allows me to coach on placement in a number of different enviroments and sports such a gymnastics, netball and multi skills, however it is in swimming I hope to pursue a career.

I coach the squad on a supply basis. I have been involved and swum from the age of 12 at Club, County and National level. I competed for Team GB in 1982/83 before heading stateside to complete a degree under a sports scholarship at Syracuse University.

I have recently returned to Masters swimming and am a qualified level 2 swimming instructor
